Orlando ended 2017 on a high note after landing the most venture capital deals ever in the fourth quarter.
Within those three months, five Orlando companies landed $22.8 million in venture capital, according to the MoneyTree Report from PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP. The first and second quarters in 2017 saw eight deals in total while the third quarter had none. In all, 2017 ended with 13 deals totaling $44.3 million in venture capital, while 2016 had eight deals totaling $14.3 million in venture capital.
But Orlando is just one cog in the machine that builds the economic behemoth of small businesses. Florida had a total of 88 venture capital deals that brought in $2.1 billion in venture capital — investments that lead to small businesses expanding and creating jobs. Read more here.
